Evaluations
As part of the Great Plant Picks selection process, members meet with subject experts and visit public and private gardens thoughout the Pacific Northwest for field evaluations. Closed Loop Park (http://gardening.wsu.edu/closedloop/) near Olympia, WA, has trial grounds dedicated to evaluating potential Great Plant Picks. Visit their website for more information. The Park is a stone’s throw from I-5 at exit 111. Donors to the Closed Loop GPP trials include Blooming Nursery, Briggs Nursery, The Elisabeth Carey Miller Botanical Garden, Evergreen Valley Nursery, Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, Terra Nova Nurseries, and Valleybrook Gardens.
