Sedum spurium ‘Schorbuser Blut’

dragon's blood sedum

Outstanding Qualities

Sedum spurium 'Schorbuser Blut' has small, scalloped purple tinted green leaves which form a durable, evergreen, succulent, weed-smothering groundcover that is just 4-inches tall. Small dark pink flowers which rise to 6-inches create a bright layer of color over the lush carpet of foliage in fall. It is a fine selection for spotting into rock walls and is also a great choice for modern style compositions in spare geometric containers or grouped with other graphic succulents. It is perfect for troughs and alpine gardens.

Colors & Combos

Great Color Contrasts: dark green, orange, silver

Great Color Partners: pink, purple, burgundy

Culture Notes

This sedum is best grown in well-drained or sandy soil, but will tolerate clay if drainage is adequate. The best flowering is in full sun, but it will tolerate light shade and still look good. Once established it is drought tolerant. Cut to the ground in fall.
