Styrax obassia is a handsome tree with bold foliage of up to six inches long, somewhat reminiscent of the Great Plant Picks logo if turned upside down! In late spring chains of fragrant white flowers decorate the branches. The form is dense while young, somewhat oval in shape, then becomes more open rounded with age.
