Clematis ‘Rooguchi’ Integrifolia Group

Rooguchi clematis

Outstanding Qualities

Captivating flower bells of indigo violet are borne above delicate green leaves from early summer to fall on this charming, non-twining vine. Clematis 'Rooguchi' grows about 8 feet in length which makes it an ideal vine for tight situations. With training it will gently clamber through open shrubs or on a trellis and it also does well in a container.

Culture Notes

This clematis will grow best in full sun to light or open shade. Provide a location with rich well-drained soil where it can be regularly watered during dry weather. Plant vines that are well rooted and at least two years old. In our climate planting too deeply can smother the roots. Set young plants at the same depth they were in their nursery pots. Clematis are heavy feeders and appreciate fertilizing in spring. This clematis dies back to the ground every winter and blooms on new growth in the summer. Cut last season’s vines back to 4 to 6 inches tall in late winter.
