Outstanding Qualities

In early to mid-summer the exquisite flowers are deep violet when first opening, then expand to lavender purple stars with cream centers. This non-vining clematis is more perennial-like, growing up to only six feet annually and then dying back to the base in the winter. 'Arabella' is attractive supported by a shrub or sturdy perennial, growing through a wire or wooden structure, in a container, or rambling along the ground amongst low-growing companions.
