Golden highlights attire the outer foliage with the inner scales being a bright green on this handsome conifer which grows much larger than most of the dwarf varieties featured on this website, but is smaller than the wild species.

- Golden hinoki cypress thrives in well-drained, humus-rich soil in light shade. They can be grown in full sun with careful attention to watering during summer. In the warmer parts of the maritime Pacific Northwest provide protection from hot afternoon sun.
