Outstanding Qualities

This sugar maple cultivar is a fast growing and stately shade tree with a strong straight trunk and lovely uniform crown. The thick leathery dark-green leaves are resistant to tattering in our frequent wind storms and are resistant to burning during summer drought. In the fall, the entire tree transforms to rich orange and scarlet red.

Culture Notes
Sugar maples grow best in well drained soil, but are very tolerant of sandy and clay conditions. Full sun will give the most intense fall color. Once established this selection will only require occasional watering during dry periods. Prune to prevent rubbing and crossing branches in young trees; as they mature very little pruning is needed.
