Fraxinus americana ‘Junginger’ AUTUMN PURPLE®
© J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co.
This seedless selection of white ash is a strong and fast grower with amazing fall color. It is fast growing with a straight trunk and a nice pyramidal shape in youth. As it matures the crown will broaden to a wide oval to round shape. In summer the foliage is a rich and glossy dark green. It is one of the first trees to develop fall color. AUTUMN PURPLE® turns a rich maroon-purple with a glowing interior of burnt orange, red and golden yellow. The effect of the turning leaves gives a luminescent look to the interior of the plant.

- Culture Notes
- This vigorous tree prefers a site with moist to well drained soil, but will tolerate sand and clay if the drainage is adequate. It will grow well with occasional watering during dry weather, but appreciates regular watering and will grow more robustly. Plant it in full sun to light shade, fall color is best with more sun. Little pruning is needed as this tree matures. Thinning to the best branches when young will provide a strong support structure as the tree matures.
